SF-330 by TheXHS SF-330 by TheXHS
The SF-330 is a 5-gen light fighter aircraft.
Some month ago comrade Roddy1990 ask me about my conception of fighter, that can be better as PAK FA, I not shure, that SF-330 can be better, but I think - this one have some chances in dogfight against any contemporary 5-gen fighter

It looks pretty complicated, and with lots of moving parts. Can't help but think about the ground crew going like:

"We got another SF-330 rolling in."

"AGAIN?!" :D

Your plane have thrust-vectoring nozzles?

Yes, Thrust vector control implemented by movable deflectors placed into exhaust flow. Same method used in testbed vehicle X-31

At first I thought it was a single-engine layout, but I guess it's a twin-engine and the nozzles are only next to each other...or not?

Anyway, I like the concept, this really could be a next generation fighter, either in the PAK FA's category or the F-35, which has more tasks performed. :)

I think about one engine. But in this shape we can place two smaller engine, as one big ... Maybe count of engine can be selected by customer (and producer designed two different tail section of fuselage with one or two engine)

Sweet! :D
Great idea, it cuts production costs and meets the needs of many air forces :)

Or maybe...that would be a crazy idea, I admit, but...I wonder if such idea is technically possible: being able to convert them into single or twin engines...for example: I got one example w/ 1 engine and then the requirements needed 2 engines; I'd be able to convert it replacing the rear section, while the avionics and other stuff wouldn't need to be replaced, only recalibrated.

Avionics - maybe, but some system strongly depend from engine - hydro, electrosystem, etc - I think its also need replace with replacing engine (and placed these systems at same rear section)

How exactly do the thruster exhausts work?

This one have one engine with flat nozzle. Thrust vector control implemented by movable deflectors placed into exhaust flow. Flat nozzle reduced IR radiation and prevent fighter from lock-on by homing-head or detection by FLIR or other IR sighting devices
