The SMF-360 is a fighter aircraft, specialy designed for takeoff and landing on water. Becouse floats have significant drag, we use two engine, push-pull configuarion. Armed by two 37-mm cannon in wing and two 12.7 mm machin-gun above first engine.
This one also may used for reconnaissance and artillery spotting.
I think, similar aircraft may used for aerial defence at large battleship

На радость прекрасной половине обслуживающего персонала =)
На самом деле - нет, ведь передний двигатель крутит передний винт, а задний - задний. И связи механической между ними как то особо и не надо.

Retractable floats should help with the drag... but I don't think anyone has managed to make them work reliably in real life.

I love the design, it is like an aviation puzzle.
I can see many parts from many planes. Stuka nose, P-51 windshield, P-39 canopy hatch, P-38 tail, Do-335 engine configuration, Mibsubishi F1M floats (except the landing gear option).
To avoid drag, I'd consider designing the fuselage itself as floats. But I guess It wouldn't look as authentic as this design.
Overall it is a nice plane but it's still your SF-352 design that I like the most. =)

Making the fuselage into a float itself is ideal, but the big problem is keeping the propeller clear of the water and spray. =p

I imagine it as an IJN aircraft.
