The XC-492 is a military cargo airlifter that is an implementation of Burnelli design. Large airfoil shaped central wing section between two tail boom accomodate short but spanwise wide cargo compartment (spanloader conception). This significantly reduce airframe weight.

IIRC, Boeing are still violently allergic to anything resembling a Burnelli because, long, long ago, they put a wind-tunnel model together to see how such went, and were notified that they needed a commercial licence. Huh ? The unmitigated gall of such a tiny company demanding then-mighty Boeing pay a hefty license fee !! How dare they !!
